Horizontal Close Coupled Pumps

Horizontal Long Coupled Pumps

Self Priming Pumps

Model KSI Chemical Process/Slurry Pump

Horizontal Close Coupled

Horizontal Close Coupled Pumps

The 'MHC' range of close coupled pumps has been designed to serve as a compact rugged unit for remote areas of chemical works.

Sandwich construction incorporates single shaft seals of material specification suitable for most chemical applications. The robust Cast Iron support frame minimises bending loads on the pump casing while allowing easy maintenance when necessary.

Horizontal Long Coupled Pumps

Horizontal Close Coupled The 'MH' long coupled pump has been designed for heavy duty permanent fixture applications, found in most chemical and industrial plants.

Therefore whilst taking advantage of the excellent corrosion resistance of Kestner materials, the relatively low mechanical strength has been counteracted by ensuring that all loads are carried by the Cast Iron support structure and not the pump casing.

In addition the pump is designed for complete back pull-out of the bearing assembly, impeller, seal and backplate without disturbing the suction and delivery pipe connections, or the alignment of the driving motor.

The bearing assembly incorporates oil lubricated deep groove ball bearings with a breather provided for ventilation of the bearing housing.

Shaft sealing is provided by high quality single or double mechanical seals with material selection dependent on application, and flushing facilities are available where necessary.

Self Priming Pumps

Horizontal Close Coupled Vertical
Extending the Vertical Glandless Pump further, a 40mm self-priming version has been introduced for the discharging of chemicals / effluents from 'blind' sump tanks and pits.

Designed on the same 'MJ' Glandless principle the MJ40K SP also allows running dry or against closed valve for indefinite periods.

Self-priming is achieved by a secondary impeller which draws a supply of liquid from a 'priming pot' attached to the side of the pump, manufactured from corrosion resistant thermoplastic.

The unit has a nominal capacity of 20m3/Hr at 20m head and a suction lift capability of up to 3.5m.

Horizontal
For either permanent or transportable use the 32/125 self priming pump is a robust unit manufactured in polypropylene and incorporates an inboard general purpose chemical seal.

The unit has a nominal capacity of 1 2m3/Hr at 1 2m head with a suction lift capability of 4m.

Model KSI Chemical Process/Slurry Pump

Kestner Engineering Co. Limited have been producing reliable Chemical Process and Slurry pumps since the early 30's at their site in Greenhithe, Kent. Innovative design, quality and superb after sales service are characteristics which ensure that all of our customers can rely on the products we supply for long life and durability.

The KSI range of standardised centrifugal pumps are single stage end suction process pumps specifically designed to be manufactured in hard alloys for chemical process and slurry applications.

Standard construction materials are 14-15% High Silicon iron or 27% High Chrome iron. The former material has an excellent corrosion resistance to a wide variety of process solutions, and in particular to all concentrations and temperatures of Sulphuric and Nitric acids. Combined with its characteristic of excellent hardness it also features excellent abrasion resistance. High Chrome iron is an economical material with high abrasive but non-corrosive slurries.

All pump units are supplied to suit customer requirements and options which are available for different applications include:

Standard Materials of Construction:
14.25% High Silicon iron or 27% High Chrome iron
Optional Materials:
Cast iron. Ni-Resist. Ni-Hard. Stainless Steel or any machinable alloy.
Wide range of Shaft seal options:
Packed gland, Hydrodynamic expeller seal, Single or Double acting Mechanical seals. Cartridge type seals and conical design single internal seal housing - optional.
Impeller Options:
Fully shrouded or Semi-open type impellers with back vanes for reduced axial thrust and integral shaft sleeves.
Designed to ISO 2858 / BS 5257 Standard
Rating PN 16 (16 bar)

Modular concept allows coverage of the Hydraulic range with two Bearing frame sizes.
Optional bearing housing oil cooler
The provision of a cast iron clamp frame reduces pipe loading on the pump casing.
A high performance hydrodynamic expeller seal effectively seals the shaft during operation, with a standard water or grease lubricated packing providing a stationary shaft seal.
Further improvements to the design include:
'Back pull-out' design with standard bearing frames and 'spacer' type couplings.
Easily adjustable bearing carrier.
Optional flange drilling to suit customer requirements. (Non ISO standard)
Minimum shaft deflection and end float (less than 0.05 and 0.03mm respectively) with oil lubricated bearings.
End suction design with centreline discharge and extra thick volute casing sections for improved corrosion and wear resistance and smooth hydraulic flow. Minimum 3mm Corrosion allowance.
Stainless steel flinger protects inboard bearing lipseal from chemical splashes.

Designed to ISO 2858/BS 5257 Standard
Back pull out for ease of maintenance
Optimum Hydraulic Design
Heavy Duty Construction
Choice of shaft seal Options
Extra thick sections for Corrosion/Abrasive Resistance

Kestner Chemical process/slurry pumps represent the latest in pump technology and will provide many years of trouble-free service, low maintenance and minimum down time.
